How a community responds to behavioral health emergencies is both a public health issue and a social justice issue. Unfortunately, our healthcare system is often ill-equipped to address the needs of individuals in behavioral health crisis. While there are national standards and expectations for medical emergencies, the response to behavioral emergencies varies widely and rarely delivers comparable quality of care.

Since its inception, Connections Health Solutions has been leading the evolution of crisis care. In addition to setting the standard for clinical care, Connections has advanced the field by creating and advocating for policies that support access to effective crisis services. Connections continues to provide thought leadership as the field grows and policymakers across the nation look to the Connections model as an exemplar.
